Abstract

Right now, there’s no reliable way for computers to check that meaning stays the same from one step to the next.

A word, number, or symbol can change its meaning depending on the situation, language, software version, or even hidden settings.

Layer Zero changes this by letting a single calculation give you two answers at once:

1. The usual number result computers use today.
2. A symbolic result that represents meaning.

The idea is to treat meaning as something that can be stored, sent, and checked with the same level of certainty that digital money is protected on the blockchain.

The Problem (01)

Today’s computers only keep the number from a calculation.

Example:

2 + 2 → 4

You only get 4.

Any extra layer of meaning behind the 2 or the result is lost.

In Layer Zero, the same calculation gives two results:

2 + 2 → 4   (number)
         22 (meaning)
